As an appetizer or starter, chili chicken is a very popular and well-known dish of Indo-Chinese / Hakka Chinese descent. In India, this may include the preparation of various types of dried chicken. Although boneless chicken is mainly used in this diet, some people also use boneless chicken.

Chili chicken comes in a variety of flavors, including spices and seasonings, as well as its sauce ”and the difference between the amount of sauce or gravy and the dried variant. The South Asian contributions of this dish are in the spices used, while the Hakka contributions include the Chinese cooking techniques used in its preparation with sweet and savory flavors.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

.500 gm chicken boneless
.2 egg whites
.6 teaspoons black pepper powder
.5 tablespoons corn flower
.4 tablespoons flour
.6 teaspoons red lentil paste / powder
.¼ teaspoon salt as per need
.3 teaspoons red lentil sauce
.3 teaspoons soya sauce

Seasoning Ingredients

.2 tablespoons sugar
.4 tablespoons tomato sauce
.2 tablespoons soy sauce
.4 tablespoons red lentil sauce
.1 tablespoon red chilli powder or paprika
.2 tablespoons vinegar
.5 tablespoons water
.1/2 Tablespoons black pepper powder

Vegetables

.2 medium onion cut
.2 tablespoons garlic finely chopped
.5 tablespoons spring onion for garnishing
.1 cup bell pepper (red and green) cubed
.3 tablespoons oil
.4 pieces chili deseeded

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Clean the boneless chicken with water and cut it into small pieces.

2. Transfer it to a clean bowl and add the sauce one by one. Add 1½ teaspoon soy and red chilli sauce. Mix it well using a spatula. You can also use your hand if you want.

3. Add 1/4 teaspoons of red chilli powder and a pinch of salt.

4. In another bowl, mix corn flour and ordinary wheat flour and pour into the original bowl.

5. Add the egg whites and mix well to keep it hydrated.

6. Set aside for at least 1-2 hours.

7. Cut onion and bell paper into small cubes. Take raw chilli and boil it.


Sause Bowl :


1. Take an empty bowl. Add 1 teaspoon soy sauce, 2 teaspoons tomato sauce and 2 teaspoons red chilli sauce one by one.

2. Add 1 teaspoon of vinegar and half a teaspoon of chilli powder.

3. Add about 2 teaspoons of sugar to taste.

4. Pour 2 tablespoons of water into the bowl.

5. Mix it well using a spoon and set aside.

How to fry chicken:


1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.

2. To test if it is ready, add a small portion of the batter to the oil. If it comes out without browning, it is ready for use.

3. Now add the chicken cubes one by one.

4. Stir with a spoon or spatula so that none of it burns.

5. Dip both sides and fry. And wait until it’s crispy and golden brown.

6. Do not fry them too much as they tend to be hard.

7. Place a paper towel on the plate and place the fried chicken to dry out the excess oil.

Create seasonings:


1. Heat 1/2 tablespoon oil in high flame for a few minutes.

2. Add garlic and fry for 1-2 minutes.

3. Add onion, capsicum, green chillies and spring onion. And fry until it crumbles.

4. Hold the bowl of sauce and pour the sauce mixture into it. Mix it well using a spatula.

5. Add a pinch of salt if necessary.

6. Now add the fried chicken to it and keep tossing to make a coating around the chicken.

7. Delicious chili chicken ready to serve. Serve it with fried rice for a better experience.
