However, if you experience heartburn more than twice in a week, you may be suffering from hyper-acidity. Causes of acidity:

Acidity can occur due to several factors such as irregular eating habits, irregular meal timings, fad diets, stress, smoking and alcohol consumption, lack of physical activity. It can also be triggered by eating stale food, oily and spicy food.

Vinegar

Basil leaves

Cold milk

Banana
